We’re heading into some of my favourite events of the year — Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year — that’s a lot of fun to have!
My regular message about Thermomix is that it’s there for you day to day, making life easier. Batch cooking? Choose your recipes and have your freezer fully stocked. Quick dinners? Sorted. Snacks for after school? No problem. You really can make any and every meal in your Thermomix, whichever model you have.
But this month, let’s take it up a notch.
I’m going to help you use your machine as a secret weapon for show-off moments — whether that’s a Halloween feast with friends, a cosy date-night dinner, or a cocktail-making party. It’s time to play, experiment, and rediscover just how versatile your Thermomix really is.
(If you need an excuse — consider it practise for the big social events coming up at Christmas!)

✨ Beyond the Basics — Rediscover What Your Thermomix Can Do
Your Thermomix isn’t just about soups, stews, and sauces — although it’s pretty awesome at those. It’s a complete cooking system that opens the door to all sorts of techniques you might not have tried yet.
We can all get stuck in our routines, using it the same way all the time, so this month is your reminder to explore what else your Thermomix can do — and maybe surprise yourself in the process!
🔥 Sous-vide cooking — Perfect for restaurant-style steaks, tender salmon, or even chocolate desserts. You’ll need the Blade Cover or Simmering Basket and then pop your ingredients into a bag*, and let your Thermomix hold the precise temperature for perfectly cooked results.
👉 Browse some Sous-vide recipes here.
🥗 Fermentation — Make your own yoghurt, soft cheese or kimchi. For yoghurt, you’ll use the Varoma dish with clean jars or containers — the constant gentle temperature creates the ideal environment for fermentation, no fuss, no guesswork.
👉 Find more fermentation ideas here.
🍹 Mixology Magic — From Passionfruit Martinis to Mojitos, your Thermomix can shake, stir, and blend like a pro. Use it for cocktail bases, flavoured syrups, or perfectly crushed ice.
Don’t worry — it’s not all alcoholic! There are plenty of mocktail choices too.
👉 View some mocktail ideas here.
🌡 Thermomix Sensor — The sensor takes the guesswork out of cooking, making your life even easier and your results more consistent. To find recipes that use the sensor, open Cookidoo and use the Accessory Filter to select “Thermomix Sensor.”
🍲 Slow cooking with flair — Ideal for curries, casseroles, and rich sauces. The consistent heat means tender, flavourful meals with minimal effort — especially good in cold weather when you’re craving warming comfort food like stews and casseroles (and perfect for batch cooking, too).

* For pointers on how to sous vide, google ‘water displacement method for sous vide bag sealing’ or similar for an alternative to vacuum-sealing. You do need to make sure you use food-safe sealable bags (bags that can withstand heat and have food in them without nasties in the plastic leaking into the food).
Featured Recipes
We’re talking fancy and fun, and here’s some inspiration for you. All of these recipes are available on Cookidoo – Thermomix’ recipe platform.
If it’s party time in your house, why not go for the Baked Camembert with Mandarin Jam and Herb Crackers or the Pizza Monkey Bread. These work as either sharers or as a starter depending on your party style. Either way, they’re both delicious!
Halloween is a favourite, with lots of fun and cute ideas for treats. You can choose between Halloween Dipped Apples, Witches’ Hats and Sausage Mummies; but why choose when you can make them all. If Halloween is party time for you, you can browse one of the Halloween Collections here. And for a more adult treat, the Blood Orange Margaritas go down a storm.
I’d love to see your creations, head over to the Facebook Community or tag me on Instagram – @flyingfoodieuk – to share your favourite recipes.
