Over the last few weeks I’ve been enjoying a trip of a lifetime, and oh my goodness what a trip!

I might have been away, but I’ve loved being able to support my owners in the WhatsApp community. Anyone is welcome to join my Facebook community, but the WhatsApp group is just for my owners, and there’s lots of chat that goes on there with help, support and recipes.

With the summer holidays ahead, things are a little quiet, but keep an eye on the socials as Thermomix is running competitions around world cooking; follow them here. And of course, follow me for all things Thermomix; follow me social media to see the latest updates 👀

No Cook Cooking

I might not have been in the country, but I certainly heard about last week’s heatwave 🥵 I’m not sure how many people are looking forward to another one, but the heat has inspired me!

When the weather is hot, no one wants a hearty hot meal, but when it’s as hot as it was, no one even wants to cook with any kind of heat. There was already enough, we didn’t need to add any more heat in our homes through cooking, so I am bringing you ideas about how to maximise your Thermomix, whatever the model, with minimal or no heat involved.

A Thermomix isn’t just for cooking. It’s brilliant for chopping, blending, whisking, mixing and crushing ice. It’s brilliant for preparing salad and prepping veg for a fresh light meal, but there’s more!  Whether you’re putting together quick lunches, light evening meals or something refreshing to cool you down, there’s plenty your Thermomix can do without ever switching on the heat.

Think of it as your summer prep station rather than your cooker

Try using it to:

A little preparation can also make the rest of the week easier. Spend ten minutes preparing dips, dressings or chopped vegetables, then simply assemble lunches or light evening meals straight from the fridge whenever you need them.

Sometimes the smartest way to use your Thermomix isn’t to cook at all.

Fresh & Light Meals

Watermelon Gazpacho: a refreshing, chilled soup with the twist of summer flavours that requires no cooking at all. Perfect as a light lunch or starter on a hot day.

Summer Rolls with Peanut Sauce: fresh, colourful and ideal for warm weather. If you use ready-cooked prawns or chicken, there’s virtually no cooking involved – simply let your Thermomix prepare the delicious peanut dipping sauce.

Quinoa Tabouli: Yes, the quinoa needs to be cooked, but that can easily be prepared first thing in the morning or even the night before while the house is still cool. Once chilled, simply mix everything together for a fresh, flavour-packed meal that’s perfect straight from the fridge.

Cooling Drinks

Enjoy a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri in the garden after a hot day, or swap it for a non-alcoholic drink and have a Virgin Raspberry Mojito packed with fresh raspberries, mint and lime 😋

Frozen Treats

If you can’t enjoy a cold, sweet treat in the summer, when can you?! Give Halva Semifreddo a go, it’s a creamy frozen dessert that’s ideal for entertaining or enjoying as a special summer treat. Or when you need an ice cream fix, the Quick Blueberry Ice Cream
is simple and quick to make.

I hope you have a wonderful summer, and if you try any of these recipes, I’d love to hear what you think. Stay cool and enjoy making the most of your Thermomix!
